Construction Points of Curb Stone

Curb stone refers to the boundary stone located at the edge of the road, referred to as the curbstone. It is used as a stone that sets the boundary between the edge of the pavement and other structural bands. It plays a role in ensuring the safety of pedestrians, the passage of vehicles and the cleanliness of the road. At the same time, it helps to remove water from the road surface.

Curb Stone

Curbs mainly include: vertical curbs (edge stones), plane curbs (flat stones), special curbs (including curved curbs, isolation belt curbs, reflective curbs, deceleration curbs), etc. Curbs should be made of stone or concrete.

Curb stone construction method characteristics

By optimizing the straightness and stability of the curb and the compressive strength of the concrete, this construction method speeds up the construction progress and can create higher economic benefits.

Measure and stake out:

After checking that the centerline of the road is correct, measure the pavement boundary in turn, place the roadside line, place the side stakes, and control the direction and elevation. The construction line can be drawn between the side piles and the side piles in the straight line section, and the pile distance is 10m; according to the design radius, the side piles are compacted in the curved curve and the intersecting section, the pile spacing is 5m, and the intersecting pile spacing is 1 5m to ensure The size of the curved arc. A total station, theodolite and level should be used for stakeout.

Curbside installation:

After the nail piles are hung up, curb stones are set in sequence along one side of the foundation. Before installing the curb, set up the formwork first, pour a 100mm thick C15 concrete cushion, and then mix it with 1:2 mortar for bottom laying. The mortar thickness should be 30mm. Curbs should be installed in the staked position.

Calculate the number of curbs at each intersection in advance. During construction, the road section is laid from the tangent point on one side of the intersection to the other side of the intersection in a short period of time; when the road section is long, it is laid from the middle to both ends to connect with the irregular curb of the intersection.

Construction Points of Curb Stone

The curb stone adjustment block shall be formed by mechanical cutting or made of cast-in-place concrete of the same strength grade. The curb stone adjustment block shall not be constructed by masonry or plastering. The curb at the gully should be constructed in combination with the gully. The gap between adjacent curbs should be controlled by an 8mm thick iron plate or plastic plate, and the gap between adjacent curbs should be uniform.

After the curb is installed, it is necessary to re-hang the line, adjust the straightness, leveling and level of the curb, and check the plane and elevation of the curb. Adjustments should be made when the plan and elevation exceed the standard. Barrier-free curbs shall be installed according to design requirements. After the curb stone is installed qualified, C15 concrete should be used for back pouring and cement mortar joints in time to ensure the stability of the curb stone. Keep it wet for 3 days, during which collisions should be prevented.

Basic requirements for curb stone installation:

Curbs should be stable, straight and smooth, the surface clean and pollution-free, and the joints of the curbs should be tight. The compressive strength of the curb concrete meets the design requirements.
